Working with Word families and celebrating Gigis birthday

Writers Workshop:
The children will have the opportunity to use all
they have learned about nonfiction writing in their
own all about book. They will be able to write
down all the information they have researched in
the past weeks about their chosen living thing.
Math: Shape and Space
Recognizing shapes in the environment and
relating 2-D and 3-D shapes to real objects.
Reinforcing and developing vocabulary to
describe shapes.
Making posters to show what we know about
different 3-D shapes.
Unit of Inquiry: Living things!
This week the Kindergarten children will finish up
their all about book and get ready for the
merchandise sale on Wednesday May 6th by making
greeting cards, coloring books and posters.

fact about your holiday?
Matei: We saw a man on the street in Geneva
drumming and we gave him money.
Arwa: I went to Hungry and drank hot chocolate.
Jawad: I went to the Dr in Lebannon.
Elle: I went on a cruise and every morning we woke up
in a different country. The first place was Greece.
Dina: I got two presents from my Grandma in Greece.
Etamar: I went to hotel to celebrate a holiday with my
family and a lot of friends from Israel.
Eva. I went to the mountains, it was cold I had to wear
a sweater.
Andy: I went to Lego Land in Germany!
Iacopo: I got to choose whatever I wanted to do over
break, it was a lot of fun!
David: I didnt know my Dads farm in Venezula had
cows.
Emma: I get to travel with my Dad and we are going to
Disneyland in Paris.
Yasmine: I went to my uncles house and it is near
Evas house in the mountains.
The Kindergarten children are very excited about their
upcoming fundraiser for the living things on Wednesday
May 6th in the EC entrance. Each kindergarten child has
designed a drawing featuring the living thing they
researched. The money raised will be used to donate to
different animal charities. Please pick up your child
from the EC entrance this Wednesday as we would
like the children to help sell the merchandise.
