O Come Let Us Adore Him!

A Birthday Party for Baby

Jesus!
On Friday, December 19 our class will celebrate
Jesus birthday by having a birthday party for
him! All students are invited to wear their
favourite pajamas to school.

The kindergarten students have been working hard

to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the Christmas
season! We will be performing at our Christmas
concert on Wednesday, December 10 at 9:40am in
our school gym. We look forward to share this special
performance with you!

Christmas Loot Bags

Please remember that St. Michael the Archangel is a
nut and egg safe school, as such we discourage
families from sending in any edible Christmas treats.
Loot bags are not required, however if you wish to
send in a Christmas loot bag for your child's
classmates please ensure the following:

Winter Wear
Brrr... its cold out there! The cold weather has arrived!
Please remember to dress your child for the winter weather
(warm hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants, coats, and
boots). We will be sending home your childs extra bag of
clothing so it can be filled with winter wear (long sleeves,
long pants, extra pairs of socks).

No edible items

We appreciate your support in

keeping all of our friends safe this
Christmas.

Place items in a clear bag

Instead of personalizing each bag
please write "To my friend"

This month we will continue working on 2D

Geometry as well as 3D Geometry. We will
investigate the relationship between twodimensional shapes and three-dimensional
figures (ex. the bottom of a cone is a circle). We
will also focus on Number Sense. We will use
concrete materials to explore and investigate
counting, quantity, and number relationships
from 0 to 10.

your childs learning at home are:

Open Boxes:
Help your child cut empty cereal or cracker
boxes on the fold lines and open them up. What
different shapes can your child find? He or she
can then cut the fold lines to make different
squares and rectangles and use these shapes to

How Many?:
Look for everyday opportunities to estimate and
count objects together: How many (apples) do
you think are in this grocery bag? Lets count to
check. How many socks do you think are in
the laundry basket? Lets make pairs and count
by 2s to check.
