Brick is proved to be one of the main building materials. The provision of good quality
housing is recognized as an important responsibility for welfare of people in a country. A
question of evolution of the use of bricks was partly based on their estimated
properties,applied building techniques and on the characteristics of brick production.
In this investigations, the in-corporation of the industrial residue fly ash into the Soil and
lime stabilized blocks are studied. However there are undesirable properties such as loss
of strength when saturated with water, erosion due to wind and/or rain or poor
dimensional stability. So a detailed study will be carried out on Soil and lime stabilized
compressed blocks with the industrial waste fly ash.
Materials: Soil, fly Ash and lime.
Evolution of Blocks and its application as load bearing wall will be carried out. Stressstrain behavior of a prism made using these blocks will also be studied. Also Wet
Compressive Strength test will be conducted.
