Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact

Rationale/Reflection
InTASC/NAEYC Standard: INTASC Standard 2: Student Development The teacher
understands how children learn and develop and can provide learning opportunities that support a childs
intellectual, social, and personal development.

Brief Description of Evidence: (include semester completed)

For the fall semester of 2014 I created a blog. In this blog I had to include a plethora of
information. Some of this information included inclusion, resources, history, and definitions.
What I had to do was create my own website and put the information in my own words. I had to
put the information that I learned in a way that represents me, basically personalize it. This
assignment helped put everything that I learned this semester, which was student development all
together.

Analysis of What I Learned:

Throughout this semester I have learned more than I couldve ever imagined. Not only did I
learn about children with disabilities but I grew as a teacher. New websites were used to that
helped me get to using new things. Doing the blog helped me to design my own website and
gave me the opportunity to put information that I learned in my own words, my own way. The
blog taught me to learn and grow and understand the differences between children, which
describes INTASC standard 2.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC/NAEYC

Standard: For the fall semester of 2014, I completed a blog for my EDUC 230 class on
students with disabilities. I believe that this blog represents INTASC standard 2 because the blog
included how children learn and develop. The blog also included learning opportunities that
support a childs intellectual, social, and personal development. Inclusion, history, and
definitions were included to help with the understanding of children with disabilities.
