Internet Lesson Plan

Reflection
This artifact is a first grade lesson plan that can be
completed through the Internet. I created the Weebly
page and wiki page for this project and came up with
the design for the lesson. I developed a math web page
for a first grade class. The webpage has tabs for all the
math units throughout the year but I focused on unit 6,
understanding place value. The tab for unit 6 includes
three subpages. The first sub tab includes all the math
standards that will be covered in the unit. The second
tab contains resources and activities that relate to the
unit. The last tab is for a study guide. The study guide is
linked to a wiki math page for this particular unit.
Standard 2.6 includes the candidates ability to
create an instructional design that demonstrates their
ability to model and facilitate the effective use of
research-based best practices in instructional design.
In this artifact I created a research-based lesson based
on best practices for a first grade classroom. By
researching the first grade standards and technology
levels I was able to create a effective lesson that I
modeled and facilitated into the classroom. The lesson
was well researched and aligned with the academic
needs of the students.
After completing this artifact, I discovered the
importance of knowing your learners. Throughout my
masters program I have not been teaching so all my
field experience has been done briefly with random
teachers at different schools. By spending more time
with the students I was able to make this lesson fit with

this particular group of students. In the future, I would

need to adjust this lesson to better meet the needs of the
students who would be engaging in this lesson.
The students learning was influenced greatly by
this Internet lesson. The first grade students do not have
many lessons that integrate the Internet. This lesson
differentiated the instruction while meeting the needs of
all the students in the class.
