Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
This is a 4th grade math lesson that is aligned to the districts standards and benchmarks. In this lesson, the students are
working on multiplying two and three digit numbers by one digit numbers using partial products. We used models to
build on the knowledge that the students had gained in the previous lessons. The students will use the information
learned in this lesson to learn the traditional way to multiply in an upcoming lesson.

Reflection on artifact:
This lesson went very well in my classroom. Throughout the lesson I had the students use the promethean board to solve
the problems. Both my students and I enjoy using the promethean board. I have noticed that when we are using the
board, my students are typically far more engaged in the lesson. One negative aspect to the promethean board is that I
can only have one student completing a problem at a time. This can make it boring for the students that are not at the
board. Once I noticed this problem, I decided to bring in my regular whiteboard. I began having multiple students
writing on the whiteboard while one student is working on the Promethean Board. This allows for more students to show
their work at a time which, in turn, keeps them engaged.
