Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
For each of my observations, I have filled out the pre-observation form. On this form, I have written exactly what I have
planned to teach, how I plan to assess it, and how it aligns to the district and curriculum standards. For this observation, I
was teaching a multiplication lesson on partial products. The standards align to our GoMath! curriculum as well as the
Common Core standards.
Reflection on artifact:
The lesson that corresponded with this pre-observation form went very well. This lesson fit under Common Core
standard 4 Number and Operations in Base Ten: Use place value understanding and properties of operations to perform
multi-digit arithmetic. The students were using the method partial products to multiply digit numbers by one digit
numbers. In the future, I will spend more time working with the students basic facts skills. I found that my students that
have struggled with basic facts also struggled with two digits by one digit multiplication. Strengthening their
multiplication facts will allow the students to be stronger when it comes to partial products.
