Activity #5: Genre Analysis Peer Review

Either in class or online, exchange your draft with one or two classmates. Use the following
prompts to provide feedback.
1. Paraphrase and evaluate the paper's thesis statement.
The middle class is shrinking, and this genres explain why.

2. Does the paper identify two distinct genres? If so, what are they? If not, suggest a genre that
could help the author of the paper revise.
Yes 1.- Article
2.- Interview

3. Select one of the three rhetorical appeals, and explain how the author of the paper could
improve his or her discussion of that appeal.
In Logos, Thomas talks about how the article has reputable resources to support their point of
view. And when he talks about the senator interview like him does not have any background
support and its just his feelings and thoughts what he is talking about, but he is a senator, and
that says that its a educated man, I think he should bring a little background of the senator to
show why he should be a reputable source.

4. Select one of the rhetorical appeals, and explain what is successful about the paper's
discussion of that appeal.
Pathos, I like that Thomas explain how the senator shows emotion, and also that he says that
the article shows emotion. I understand that the article shows emotion, showing the data, and
that the reader can feel a emotion, I would like some examples of the article to see why it show
emotion.

5. Identify one grammatical issue within the paper, and explain how to correct it.

6. Explain one more way that the paper could be improved.

I would like to see quotes from the interview and the article to understand more about what he is
talking about.
