Throughouttheterm,wehavebeenstudyingOntarioandCanadaasaclass.Tohelp
eachchildgainadeeperunderstandingofthesetopics,wewillbecreatingresearch
projectsathomethatwillbesharedatschool.

Grade3studentswillresearchacommunity(city,town,orvillage)andGrade4
studentswillresearchaprovince.Ideasforcommunities:Kingston,Amherstview,
Odessa,Bath,Ottawa,Toronto,Vancouver,Calgary,Montreal,Edmonton,andsoon.
Ablankbrochureplanningsheet,thesuccesscriteriaforassessment,andablank
trifoldbrochureareattachedtohelpyourchildcompletethisprojectsuccessfully.There
are5topicstoincludeinthisproject,whichyoucanseeontheplanningsheet.Projects
canbetypedorhandwritten.Picturesthatareusedcanbeprinted(withwebsitecredit)
orhanddrawn.Studentswhoplantotypetheirbrochurecanusealandscapepage
orientationandinserta3columntable.Then,alltheyneedtodoistypeintothe
columns.Alternatively,studentsmaychoosetocreateaposter(insteadofabrochure).
Theposterwouldincludethesame5topics.

Theentireproject,includingtheresearchandthebrochureitself,willbecompletedat
home.Researchcanbedoneontheinternetorbyusingpubliclibrarybooks.
