Technology To Go: The Evolution of Mobile Communication
Mobile computing when a device is portable and capable of wireless
communication
WiFi allows mobile computing devices to connect through WAP
WAP wireless access point which passes data along to the internet or local network
PDA Personal Digital Assistant, originally made to keep track of appointments but
now used as a mobile electronic notepad
Why are mobile computing devices so popular? Mobile computing devices are so
popular because they are small, portable, can send and receive messages, and can
use the internet.

What are some of the difference/advantages/disadvantages between web-based
email and an e-mail software that can be installed on your computer?
On web-based email you can be anywhere with an internet connection and reach
your email, use as much space as you like, and it is very convenient
On an e-mail software you can use your email without the internet, access your
email faster, and not worry about security issues.
Networks
LAN land area network

WAN wide area network

Internet an enormous network that connects over 350 million computers.

WWW the world wide web, a large part of the internet that holds viewable content.

Webpage a single multimedia web document

Website a collection of webpages usually owned by the same person or company.

Web Browser your way to access the world wide web.
