2. Where is Hadar and why is it significant?
Hadar is located in Ethiopia, Africa. It is a pilgrimage for anthropologists.
The first hominid ever found was of a women located in this area.
3. Why was the 3.2 million year old hominid fossil found in Hadar called "Lucy"?
It was named after The Beatles song Lucy in the sky with diamonds
4. What is Lucys scientific name?
Australopithecus
5. What is a paleoecologist?
A paleocologist is a scientist that works in ecology dealing with ancient
organisms or civilizations.
Anatomy:
6. What is the closest living relative to the human?
Bonobos
7. How close are we to this closest living relative?
The human DNA is really close to bonobos but the difference is that us
humans are capable to rationale and think in a different way.
7a. Does this mean we evolved from this closest living relative?
No, humans did not evolved from monkeys but probably we developed
from a similar branch that monkeys did.
8. What is a common ancestor?
It is when different species have evolved from the same ancestors.
