Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was a famous world leader because he was the first African American
president in South Africa. One of his famous quotes was, Its always seems impossible until its
done. He dedicated his life to getting it done.
Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918, in Mveso, Transkei, South Africa. (Nelson
Mandelas .com)Colonial authorities deprived Mandela's father of his chief status and moved his
family to Qunu. Mphakanyiswa played a principal role in Dalindyebo's ascension to the Thembu
throne. He was the first in his family to attend a school and it was while there that the young
Rolihlahla was given the name Nelson. One of his passions was to box.
Nelson Mandelas adult life was hard he went to prison for 27 years, but he was let out by
FW de klerk. Nelson's adult life occupations included boxing. He also went to college to be a
lawyer. He attended the University of South Africa, University of the Witwatersrand, and the
University of Fort Hare.
Becoming actively involved in the anti-apartheid movement in his 20s, Mandela joined
the African national congress in 1942.For 20 years, he directed a campaign of peaceful,
nonviolent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies. In 1993
Mandela and South African president F.W. de klerk were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
for their efforts to dismantle the countrys apartied system.in 1994 ,Mandela was inaugurated as
South African first black president.
In conclusion nelson Mandela was a great leader. He led aparited to end. He will forever
live in our worlds history.
