LITERACY

MATH

In Literacy, we will be continuing

our unit on fairytales and fractured
fairytales to continue to gain an
understanding of a different type of
texts.

In math we will be starting our new

unit on addition and subtraction. We
will be learning different addition
strategies before March break and
moving on to subtraction after the
break.

In writing, we will continue our

focus
on
writing
complete
sentences, and turning those in to
proper and complete paragraphs to
help explain our thinking.
As part of your evening routines,
please try and read fairytales and
fractured fairytales with your child.

SCIENCE
We have started our unit on simple
machines with our visit from a
scientist. Check out the twitter
account for pictures of some of the
activities the students did that day.
We will continue to study the 6
different simple machines and you can
have your child tell about them.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We have started to look at maps and
how to read them and will continue to
work on this skill throughout the
month.
