BARATHIN-PLUS thinner is a highly effective deflocculant specifically formulated to help provide
increased rheological control in low pH (8.5 - 9.5) environments in fresh water, seawater, and saturated salt
water drilling fluids. BARATHIN-PLUS thinner is effective at low concentrations and works to control
rheological properties and filtration rates of water-based fluids. It can be used to effectively maintain and
control non-dispersed, lightly-dispersed or fully dispersed fluid systems through modification of the product
concentration and pH level. BARATHIN-PLUS thinner helps restore the flow properties and filtration
control of salt- and calcium-contaminated drilling fluids. BARATHIN-PLUS helps reduce air entrapment in
the systems thereby reducing corrosive effects. BARATHIN-PLUS thinner is chrome free.
Helps provide control of gel strengths and flow properties in non-dispersed and lightly dispersed systems
while maintaining hole cleaning capabilities
Helps control rheology in fresh water, sea water and salt water drilling fluid systems
Helps control filtration rates of water-based drilling fluids at temperatures up to 350F (177 C)
Can effectively treat contamination from salt, cement, anhydrite, drilled solids

Contains no concentrations of chrome

Specifically designed for low pH operations (8.5 9.5)

1. To maintain non-dispersed system, 0.1 0.25 ppb to control gel strengths

2. To maintain a lightly dispersed system, 0.5 2.0 ppb to control flow properties and filtration rates
3. To maintain a fully dispersed system, 2.0 4.0 ppb with appropriate pH at increasing levels as warranted
4. To restore flow properties and filtration control after contamination, 2.0 8.0 ppb
