Good Agricultural Practices A to Z - Focus on Cantaloupe (Elkhart County)
Ag Hall, Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, 17746 County Road 34, Goshen, IN
This Good Agricultural Practices workshop will share strategies to reduce microbial
contamination of produce from seed to the moment you sell it. Use these on-farm preventive
controls as a basis for on-farm risk assessment and writing a food safety plan or even
becoming GAPs certified. This workshop is focused on cantaloupe production and processing
but all growers will gain useful tips. Preventive control criteria for cantaloupe as well as
proposed FSMA rules to reduce microbial contamination will be discussed. This activity was
funded, by Purdue, as part of AgSEED Crossroads funding to support Indiana's Agriculture
and Rural Development.
COST: Free: This workshop is funded by an AgSEED grant.
