Steve Weller will be in Kenya from October 30 until November 12 working on his USAID Horticulture Innovation Lab
project on African Indigenous Vegetables and Nutrition with colleagues in Kenya and at AMPATH in Eldoret, Kenya.
Jian-Kang Zhu will deliver the Herbert Newby McCoy Distinguished Lecture entitled Decoding the Epigenetic Language
of Life on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 3:30 pm in Fowler Hall, Stewart Center. Reception to follow at 4:30 pm in
Robert L. Ringel Gallery, Stewart Center.
LA 325 Planting Design, Assistant Professor Mindy Appold and Dr. Greg Hunt
in ENTO 351, Bee Keeping Class, on October 31st from 1:30-4:00 in Whistler
Hall 116. Everyone is invited.

PUCESA Professional Development Conference. November 1-3. HLA Extension will have a booth/display.

Thursday, November 3 at 3:30 pm, Reception at 3:10 pm, HORT 117. Horticulture Seminar presented by Lisa Alexander,
USDA/U.S. National Arboretum, Production of polyploid Hydrangea macrophylla for improved ornamental traits
The Purdue Master Gardener Program and the Purdue Junior Master Gardener Program were presented with Green
Light Awards and inducted into the Indiana Bicentennial Hall of Fame on October 25, 2016 for these programs efforts to
promote sustainability through teaching adults and youth about sound gardening practices.
