Appsurd

It has been observed that one can prove the app valuable if designing of apps are supposedly the state
of the art and it should come from ones experience and problem definition. The app functionality
must reflect the issue at the grassroots level.
Techfest hereby brings you an opportunity to solve a local problem around you/your society. So,
stretch your minds to the fullest and crack any pricky issue in your locality.
Task
1. Solve a local problem around you/your society. Students can pick any of below problem or
create one on their own as long as it addresses a genuine local issue.
Women safety
Availability and accessibility of Healthy food & clean water
Child labour & right to education
Infrastructure & sustainable development
Transportation & road safety

Rules
1. All the contest entries must use at least one product from below Intel Software offerings:

Touch and Sensor Application Development


Intel Android NDK
Intel XDK

2. Teams must upload app/solution to respective app stores and share URLs
3. Teams must create either video/blog post about contest journey/experience and share URLs
4. Teams must get as many people as possible to use/evaluate their app/solution and share
testimonials (Text/Video etc.) URLs
5. Participants must build their apps/solution for either Windows or Android Platform that runs
on Intel Architecture.
Submissions
1. Email ID for submitting the abstracts and the video: competitions@techfest.org
Deadline for abstract submission: 15th December, 2013
Winners to be announced on: 20th December, 2013

Judging Criterion
1. Judging will be done according the following points (weightage is mentioned in brackets) : Concept (15%)
Impact (50%)
Execution (20%)
Feasibility (15%)

Team Specification
A team may consist of a maximum of 2 participants. Students from different educational institutes can
form a team.

Eligibility
All students with a valid identity card of their respective educational institutes are eligible to
participate.

Certificate Policy
1. Certificate of excellence will be given to top 3 teams.
2. Disqualified teams will not be considered for any certificates.
