What We Are Studying:

Reading/Language Arts: We will finish 6.1 Monday and will test on Tuesday. We will begin 6.3 on Wednesday. The
skills are listed on the back of this newsletter.
Math:

We are working on Chapter 9, which covers measurement with centimeters.

Science/Social Studies: We will continue our unit on Space and the planets. Miss Forbes will continue to teach
Science.

Classroom News and Reminders:

- Parents: Please read this! Please clean out your childs binder each night. Sign any papers with a
grade of 69 or below.
-Sign your childs planner each night.
-Remember that tonight (4/13/15) is PTO at 6:00. The second graders will be singing!
-Friday, April 17th we will NOT be having school. Have a happy day off of school!

Monday

Tuesday
1. Complete Math workbook pages 205, 206 (use a centimeter ruler)
2. Read for 20 minutes, and have an adult sign your Reading card.
Wednesday
1. Study your spelling and vocabulary words.

Your child will need a 12 inch

ruler to do their math
homework for this week.

2. Complete Math workbook pages 209, 210

3. Read for 20 minutes, and have an adult sign your Reading card.
Thursday Homework due to Mrs. Vickersthe 2 math sheets need to be returned to me, along with the

Reading Card that you have filled out and signed for this week. Remember each line on the card is
worth 20 minutes of reading.

4/21 Spelling Test on 6.3
4/22 Vocabulary Test on 6.3
4/23 Earth Day field tripno parents needed for
this trip. Its a quick trip about recycling.
4/23 Grammar Test on 6.3
4/24 Reading Test on 6.3 and Relay for Life-- 6:00

Things to remember:
April 13th is PTO! Second grade will perform.
April 30th is the Callaway Gardens field trip. I will need
parents to help chaperone! Parents will need to carpool
or drive their own cars. Parents must pay at the gate as
you enter. The cost for parents is $9.10 (I think.)
2nd grade will be doing the STI Assessment on 4/28 and
4/29. These results will be sent to Pick. Please have
your child to school on time and make sure they have
eaten breakfast!
