BACCARA
GEM-SOL Coil
General Description
The GEM-SOL coil is designed to be
mounted on the "operator" to set up a
solenoid valve.
The coil, including its magnetic circuit, is
encapsulated in high temperature resistant
nylon to withstand humidity and heavy
duty requirements.
Notes
The coil should not be energized without
being assembled on operator.
All GEM-SOL coils are designed to operate
at 10% of nominal voltage.
Our engineering department is able to design
coils to any special requirement, they can then
be produced in any quantity specified.
GEM-SOL coils are suitable to work at
100% ED, however when energizing AC8W or
DC10W coils for a long time, the temperature
developed may affect solenoid seals. Please
consult our technical sales department to get
further information on the use of lower power
coils or Viton seals.
For outdoor applications or when the coil is
exposed to high humidity, we recommend the use
of impregnated coils. Please contact our technical
sales department for specific requirements.

General Description
The GEM-SOL Ex coil is designed to
be mounted on a GEM- SOL valve.
The coil meets the guidelines of ATEX
97/9/EC, EN 60079-0 and EN60079-18.
The coil uses a pulse wide modulation system
to reduce the power rating of the coil to about
1 (w) at holding.
Notes
This coil must be mounted on a GEM-SOL solenoid valve.
It can only be used with the media specified for
GEM-SOL valves. It is for use in:
Explosion Group II, Category 2G, and Temperature
Class T6.
This coil must be protected against direct and other
U.V. light.
The type of protection used is Encapsulation Ex mb,
by potting Epoxy.
Certification: DEMKO 08 ATEX 143928X
Use with DC GEM-SOL valves.

The GEM-SOL IP 68 coil is designed to be
mounted on the "operator" to set up a
solenoid valve.
The coil meets the requirement of the
European Standards IEC 529 code IP68.
Notes
Voltage rating is 10%.
For best results, the coil should be mounted
on sealed operators. Please consult with our
technical sales department.
Use with GEM-SOL valves suitable for the
coils power.
Suitable for infinite immersion up to 2m depth.

GEM-SOL Operator 2/2, 3/2 Way

General Description
The operator is designed to be assembled on a valve
or a counterpart, to set up a solenoid valve.
According to the operator and valve construction, all
functional versions are possible: 2/2-3/2 way
normally closed or open.
The operator is mounted on all our solenoid valves.
It may be used with alternating or direct current.
Notes
Operator seat should be designed according
to our specifications.
Operator for DC is without shading ring and may
not be used for AC.
ADC operators and valves are suitable for use
with AC 8W or DC 10W. When an order of an
operator or a valve is without a coil, ADC
operators will be supplied.
When assembling coil, take care not to tighten
nut excessively.
Valves are inspected at general pressure of
12 bar. Higher pressures are available.

General Description
These GEM-SOL 2/2 Way NC, NO solenoid valves are
recommended for heavy duty applications where
high performance is required.
These valves are recommended for vacuum
application, but can be used for air, water and
oil; please consult with us if you need the valves
to work with other fluids.
Notes
ADC valves are suitable to work
only with AC 8W or DC 10W coils.
Latch valves are available upon request.
Valves are without manual
override. (2/2 way NC valves).
When ordering PTFE seal, Viton
O-ring will be used.

to be mounted on a sub-base or on an appropriate
counterpart adapted to this valve type.
This version is suitable for mounting any number
of valves on the same sub-base plate. Any combination
of 3/2 way normally closed or normally open may be
grouped together.

General Description
GEM-SOL solenoid valves are designed to be
mounted on a sub-base or on an appropriate
This version is suitable for mounting any number
of valves on the same sub-base plate. Any
combination of 2/2 or 3/2 way normally closed
or open may be grouped together.
The modular manifold design enables to achieve
any manifold length.
Notes
Valves are inspected at general pressures of 12 bar or
less (see tables).
Valves for higher pressures are available upon request.
Valves for pressure higher than 25 bar are less manual
override. (For valves with pressure higher than 12 bar,
please refer to section 5 on page 7.5).
Baccara manufactures two types of NO valves:
Supply pressure is through the base as in NC valves.
These valves can be combined in a standard manifold.
They are without manual override.
Supply pressure is through the tube. These valves
cannot be combined in a standard manifold. They are
with manual override.
When using a manifold with more than 8 stations it is
advisable to use two air supplies, one at each end.
ADC valves are suitable to work only with AC 8W
or DC 10W coils.
LATCH valves are available upon request.

The flow adjustment screw enables restriction
of flow or emergency close-down.
Notes
A minimum differential pressure of 1 bar
is required for operation.

GEM-SOL Proportional 2/2 Way NC

Direct Operated Valve
General Description
This valve is a 2/2 Way normally closed direct
operating solenoid valve and is based on the
GEM-SOL solenoid valve. It is used as a control
valve in process control, medical systems etc.
Working Principle
The Solenoid Operator is used to create a magnetic
force. The balance between this force and the
returning spring at any current, is used to control
the plunger stroke which determines the valve opening.
The magnetic force is direct associated to the current
passing in the coil.
The fluid enters the valve below the seat. The fluid
pressure together with the magnetic force acts against
the return spring. Setting this spring will change the
minimum current needed to open the valve, and by that,
the minimum flow.

General Description
These valves are based on the GEVA 80 operator
with 8mm diameter plunger. Due to its relatively low
power consumption, the valve can be directly operated
from an electronic controller.
The valves are used mainly in pneumatic applications
as a pilot valve, but can be used for gas, water and
light oils.
Notes
Valves are 100% inspected at 10 bar. Valves for
higher pressure are available upon special request.
See table for maximum pressures.
Valves for pressure higher than 12 bar are less
manual override.
The valves are AC or DC designated.
The coil can be mounted in 4 positions, at 90 apart.
The coil plug can rotate 2 positions at 180.

Geva 80 Zero differential pressure 2/2 way NC solenoid
valves are recommended for heavy duty applications
where high flow is required.
They can be operated with differential pressure up to
8 bar.
The valves' main advantage is in applications where the
pressure values can vary from a very low pressure to a
few bars and where high flow is needed.

Pulse Operated 3/2 Way 2 or 3 wires
General Description
This valve has been designed to meet the high
standards required in electronic control irrigation
systems.
These systems, which can receive energy from
a limited source such as a battery, require a
valve capable of quick response time, long life,
resistance to extreme surrounding conditions and
lower power consumption.
The mechanical structure of the valve enables easy
and simple maintenance and is a result of vast
experience in this field.
The valve is made up of two separate parts:
electro-mechanical operator and mechanical valve.
The electro-mechanical operator is housed in a
sealed plastic structure.
The mechanical valve is made of high standard
anti-corrosive materials.
The valve has a knob on the bottom for manual
operation and to indicate valve position.

The 2/2, 3/2 Way, NC, NO operator is compatible with

The two wire operator consists of one coil with exit of two
lead wires. Electrical operation by reversing the current, by
use of transistors or relays.
The three wire operator consists of one coil and an
integrated electrical circuit.
Notes
Two wires: to pull the plunger up, connect the black
wire (-) and the green to the (+).
Three wires: to pull the plunger up, pulse is given to
the red wire (-). To release the plunger, a pulse is
given to the black wire (-).
To avoid damage to the electronic circuit, operate
the three wires solenoid only by a controller.

The Baccara Digital Differential Pressure Gauge Switch
combines a gauge and a switch in one unit, which allows
