Deforestation must be reduced for several key reasons: (1) Trees produce oxygen that humans and animals need to breathe. Without trees, oxygen levels would decline drastically. (2) Trees help prevent landslides by gripping the ground; areas without trees are prone to landslides. (3) Forests are important habitats for countless animal species and some human tribes; without forests, over half of all animal species would become extinct.

Deforestation must stop. When I say deforestation, I mean when
My first argument is that we need our forests, because trees produce oxygen. What I mean is trees take in Carbon dioxide, and let out the oxygen that we breathe. For example, when youre hiking in the mountains, the air always feels more clear and fresh, and thats all because of the trees that are around you. Did you know that a tree produces approximately 58,790,347,597 pounds of oxygen per year, so what do you think it would be like if there werent enough trees, what would it be like to lose that much oxygen? And that is why deforestation has to be reduced! My second argument is that trees definitely help to prevent landslides. When I say landslides, I mean when chunks of rock or dirt slides down the side of a mountain or hill when there is a lot of wind or rain, because there is nothing to grip the it, And that gripper is trees. Trees grip the ground, and that stops landslides. When I was hiking once, I saw a place where there had been a landslide, and for a few meters around that area, the wasnt one tree! That is why deforestation must be reduced! My last argument is that trees are an important habitat. When I say that trees are an important habitat, I mean that there is a countless amount of different species of animals that need the forest as there home. For example, when youre in the desert or that sort of treeless area, do you see monkeys, or tigers, or bears? No! so if there were no more forests, how many species do you think there would be left? And over half of the worlds animal species live in rain forests, and hundreds are going extinct now! Not only is that a threat to animals that live there, there are also tribes of humans that live in those forests too! What would it be like if all the trees disappeared, and eventually there wasnt enough oxygen for everyone?
