RE: Ms. Leah Holloman
The intent of this correspondence is to support Ms. Holloman in gaining employment as a special
education teaching professional in the public schools of North Carolina. I have known Ms. Holloman
for over two years as her advisor in the Graduate Program in Special Education at North Carolina
State University. I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Holloman as her instructor in graduate
level courses such as Teaching Functional and Life Skills to Students with Disabilities, Applied
Behavior Analysis for Teachers, and Graduate Internship in Special Education. These experiences
have led to a close working relationship with Ms. Holloman, and the pleasure has been all mine. I
have been impressed with her diligence, responsibility, initiative, and curiosity in matters related to
serving students with disabilities of all ages. In each of the courses mentioned above Ms. Holloman
work was more than adequate in all aspects of professional writing, knowledge of information on
examinations, and ability to communicate verbally in course discussions. She knows how to
collaborate well with others, and she is very knowledgeable of instructional techniques that are
known to enhance achievement and performance of students with learning and behavior problems.
Ms. Holloman is also to be respected in personal aspects. She is practical, personable, and never
becomes "rattled" when faced with adversity. Her grace under pressure is worthy of imitation.
In closing, I am certain that Ms. Holloman' expertise will be in great demand by agencies concerned
with effective services for persons with disabilities. If given the opportunity to employ her I would
not hesitate. She is a professional, and I am sure that she is destined for excellence in her chosen
field of study. Feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions regarding Ms. Hollomanit
would be a pleasure to talk positively about her again.
Sincerely,

Edward J. Sabornie
