AFFECTIVE LEARNING ON STREET CHILDREN AWARENESS AMONG UiTM
JASINS STUDENTS USING PERSUASIVE GAME
DESCRIPTION
Affective Learning on Street Children Awareness Among UiTM Jasins
Students using Persuasive Game
According to United Nations, there are up to 150 million street children in
the world today while approximately 500 children are left to loiter at night
in the back streets of the capital of Malaysia (Singh, 2007). Lack of
exposure and understanding seems to be the obstacle to tackle this issue.
Furthermore, negative stereotypes and attitude toward street children still
abound, thus worsen this situation. Awareness through education,
whether formal or informal, without clear instruction needs to depend on
other mechanisms (D. Ruggiero, 2014).
1. To design an affective learning model through persuasive game that
intended to promote awareness on street children.
.
2. To develop street children awareness through persuasive game for
UiTM Jasin students.
3. To evaluate the effectiveness on the persuasive game in promoting
awareness on street children.

Scope

The research scope of this project is to implement affective learning into

persuasive game to promote social awareness on street children for UiTM
Jasins students who wish to participate in future community service.

Significance

The research enables UiTM Jasin students to be exposed and understand

the plight of street children who live in poverty and being homeless
through a persuasive game. `In addition, the awareness helps to alleviate
their negative stereotypes and attitude toward street children. This is
important in order to create empathy to those affected, thus build a sense
of social responsibility that may foster future community service.
