Grammar for Verb Conjugation unit:

#1: Pronouns
In English, to say who is doing something, you can use either the person's name, title, or a pronoun.
Some English pronouns are I, you, he, she, we, they.
In Spanish, to say who is doing something, you can use either the persons name, title or a pronoun. The
Spanish pronouns are listed in the chart below.

Plural

they - ellos
they -ellas
you - ustedes / Uds.

usted / Ud.

In Spanish, the pronoun is not required except to clarify or emphasize. The ending on the verb indicates
who the subject is. See verb conjugation below.

#2: Verb Conjugation

All of the verbs in this unit end with -ar, -er or -ir. This is the infinitive form of the verb.
Examples: bailar (to dance), hacer (to do), escribir (to write).
The ar, er or ir translates as to. This ending is changed to indicate who is doing the action. Take off
the ar, er or ir ending and add the ending from the chart that corresponds to the subject pronoun that you
want.
Students will learn to conjugate all of the verbs in this unit into the present singular tense as seen
above.
