    StephenwasintheearlystagesofAmyotrophicLateralSclerosis(mostcommonlyknownasA.l.S.
    orLouGehrigsdisease).Doctorssaidthathehadtwoandahalfyearstolive.HeGained

    thatitissomethingthateveryoneshouldpossess,becauseitmakesyouwanttoknowmore.When
    Stephenwasyounghereallywantedtolearnmoreaboutspaceandscience.Beingwhimsical,or
    imaginativeisalsoanothergreatcharacteristicsbecauseitallowsyoutothinkoutoftheboxandbe
    morecreative,Ifyoucantimaginewhatcouldbethenhowareyougoingtothinkofamazingnew
    things.StephenwaswhimsicalbecausewhenRogerPenrosemadegroundbreakingfindingsabout
    thefateofstarsandthecreationprocessofblackholesStephenwasfascinatedandstartedto
