Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking, in full Stephen William Hawking, was born on January 8, 1942, in
Oxford, England, and died on March 14, 2018, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Stephen Hawking
was a British scientist, professor and author who performed groundbreaking work in physics and
cosmology, and whose books helped to make science accessible to everyone. He is known for
his groundbreking work on black holes and relativity. He is also helped prove the idea of a 'Big
Bang' at the birth of the Universe.
Hawking's wife is Jane Wilde. He met his wife at a party in 1962. They became engaged
to marry in October 1964. The couple resided in Cambridge, within Hawking's walking distance
to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP). During their first
years of marriage, Jane lived in London during the weeks as she completed her degree at
Westfield College. Hawking and Jane have three children. They are Robert was born on May
1967, Lucy born November 1970, and Timothy born on April 1979.
In his early days at Cambridge, at age 21, Hawking was diagnosed with Amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis (ALS), a motor neuron disease in which the nerves controlling the muscles
become inactive while the sensory nerves function normally. Stephen Hawking has got blue
eyes and short light brown hair. He is tall and slim. Stephen tends to be curious, independent,
and observant. Stephen generally loves to pursue knowledge and seeks a deeper
understanding of the world. Stephen tends to be confident, analytical, and ambitious. Stephen is
likely an independent thinker focused on solving the world's problems.
