In each of my elementary core classes we discussed the

content knowledge students need to know from
elementary to middle school according to state and
national standards for education. For each content area I
developed lesson plans and taught the lesson to the class.
I learned how to integrate technology, communicate
effectively, and cater to the needs of all students. I
received peer feedback and collected resources to help
me further my understanding of how to effectively teach
content knowledge to students. I learned about the inquiry
process, differentiation, STEM lesson planning, and Blooms
Taxonomy to develop higher order thinking skills. I used
instructional strategies and learned how to evaluate
student learning based on assessments.
I applied my knowledge during my field practicums. I
created and taught lessons in both elementary and middle
school. In my practicums I worked with a diverse student
population including special need students and students
from diverse backgrounds. Receiving a liberal arts
education has allowed me to understand and appreciate
global perspectives on education.
