Introduction: T will introduce himself to Ss
and explain focus of the lesson

Transition: Students will be allowed to safely
enter the pool



Warm-up: Ss will swim 2 laps in the pool to
warm up using whatever stroke they feel
most comfortable performing



Introduction (contd): T will discuss focus of
the lesson, start and stop signals, safety,
and address any questions that the students
may have as well as question the students
on their current knowledge of strokes. Ss
will be told that they will be graded based on
their effort not their ability to perform the
strokes; however, improvement throughout
the lesson through increased effort is a
requirement.

Focus of the lesson:
BACKSTROKE

Start and stop signals: Start: Ready, go.
Stop: One whistle Ss stop and look at T.

Safety: No horseplay, need to be
comfortable in the water, remember to
breathe, if multiple students per lane then
students should always swim on the right
