    Caste System Varna Activity

    Directions: Each group will be assigned a Varna in the caste system. Please use the Library
    databases to find a description of your varna. Read the description. After you have read the
    description, on the back of this paper write a journal entry that describes the following:

    Who are you? What class are you in? (Which caste are you in? Name? Describe you and
    your job) You may be somewhat creative.

    What is your role in society (including what kind of job that you do)? What is daily life
    like?

    How do you feel about that role? How do you interact with others in the caste system?

    This should take several paragraphs and should include specific details from the website that
    was provided for you and any other sources you can find (i.e. books, internet, online databases,
    etc.). Be prepared to describe your role in class tomorrow.
