Assignment 1- Journal Article Review Exercise

The aim of this assignment is to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities which are
required in the academic study of management, and they are of practical importance to
managers.
Requirements
To complete the Journal Article Review Exercise, you will need to do each of the following:

Find an academic journal publication to select a journal article.

You will need to use the library catalogue and databases to find a published academic
Journal article relating to one of the topics in course outline.

Read the selected article at least three times.

Review and critically analyze the selected journal article

You are required to critically review the content and usefulness of your selected
academic article. Your review will have three sections.
The first section should provide an overview of the article content, and
summarizing the main points and the authors key conclusions.
The second section should identify the new concepts (If there are), new
learning experiences, challengeable areas, strengths and weaknesses of the
authors research or arguments.
The third section should evaluate the articles usefulness and your comments.

Assignment presenting guidelines

The report should be presented according to the report presentation guidelines given by the
Postgraduate Center for Business Studies.
Length of the article
The length of the article will be depended on the content of the selected article. Therefore, the
written report may be 8 to 15 pages.
Submitting the assignment
Students are required to submit a hard copy of the written report with a hardcopy of your
selected article.
Marks
25% marks will be awarded for this assignment.
Dead line
The deadline for the submission is 02nd March 2013 (end of 07th Session).
