I am a future nursing school candidate and am interested in obtaining more experience
in the nursing field, I am currently on my way of becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant. I enjoy
working with people and I can imagine how great it would be working with patients. I am further
inspired to enter a career in nursing. I hope to gain experience as a nurse assistant in order to
become an excellent Registered Nurse in the future. My ultimate goal is to become a Nurse
Practitioner in oncology.
I would be an exceptional candidate for Nurse Assistant at the Acute Direct Observation
Unit in Torrance because I have the skills necessary to perform the delegated tasks. Not only do I
know how to take care of people but I have practiced these skills at several nursing homes as a
volunteer. In addition, volunteering at nursing homes has taught me to see the signs of a patient in
pain and know how to respond to patients in immediate need of attention.
I have volunteered at several health care facilities near my community of South L.A. At
Martin Luther King Multi-Ambulatory Care Center, I helped Registered Nurses as a Spanish
translator to assist communication with patients. I recall one moment when a patients eyes lit up
with clear knowledge of what the R.N. was recommending her to do with her specific health
issue. I believe I can assist Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance to
continue to facilitate proper communication with patients and satisfy their health needs as
appropriate as possible. I am compassionate about making a difference in patients lives.
