    Iamjustgoingtofocusonthetwoprotagonistsofthethestoriesfornow.In
    TheOdyssey
    ,themain
    characterisOdysseus,andin

    themaincharacterisUlysses.Bothhave
    escapedfromatypeofconfinement.OdysseusfromthehandsofCalypso,andUlyssesfromjail.Once
    theyescape,theyareseekingsomethingveryvaluabletothem.Inthebook,Odysseusisseekingtogo
    hometohisfamily,whileUlyssesistryingtoseektreasureandhisfamily.

    OdysseusandUlyssesarequitealikeincharacteristics.Theyarebotharrogantandleadersof
    theirgroup.Thesearebasicallythestrengthsthattheyhave.Theirweaknessesontheotherhandarent
    sogreatbecausetheyaffectthedestinationortreasurethattheyseek.Odysseus,heleadshiscrewto
    theirdeaths.Ulysses,heleadshisfriends,onlytothepointwheretheybecomefugitivesandtheylose
    alloftheirmoney.SomeevidenceforthisiswhenOdysseusandhiscrewareguestsonHeliosisland.
    Heliosallowedthemtostaythereiftheydidnotharmthecattle,butofcourseOdysseusmenkilled
    andatethecattle.Odysseusknewwhatwasgoingonandhedidnttrytostopthem.So,Helioshad
    ZeussmitethecrewbutheexcludedOdysseusbecausehedidnotharmorkillthecows.

    ThisisevidenceforZeuslisteningtoHeliosandkillingallofthecrewexceptOdysseus.Thisshows
    thatOdysseuswasnotagreatleaderbecausehedidnottrytostopthecrewfromharmingthecattle.
    SamewithUlysses.Theyescapedjail,buttheybecamefugitives.BecauseofUlysses,Petewas
    capturedagain.BecauseofUlysses,theydidnotfindtreasureandtheirhappyendingwasntsohappy.

    Atfirst,allUlysseswantedtodowastofindthetreasure,butasthemoviewentonhewas
    eagertofindhiswifeandchildren.Thiswasbothoftheirgoalsattheendoftheirjourney.Although,
    Penny,thewifeofUlyssestoldeveryonethatherhusbandhadbeenhitbyatrain.Penelopeonthe
    otherhandlegitimatelythoughtherhusbandhaddied.Towardstheend,theydecidedtomarrysomeone
    elseeventhoughtheystilllovedeitherOdysseusorUlysses.ForPennyitwasVernonT.Waldrup,her
    fiance.OrforPenelope,itwasoneofthesuitors.Topickahusband,Penelopetestedthemen.Ifoneof
    themcouldshootasinglearrowthroughtwelveaxes,thenthatmanwouldbeherhusband.Inthefilm,
    PennyjustneededtobeconvincedbyUlyssesthathewouldandcouldtakecareofthefamily.
