Quebecois

The basis for the Quebecois identity

is the language they speak: French.
They define themselves as the nation
that consisted of the founding
peoples of this country, the people
that were here from the start, and
people who speak the French
language. Many French people feel
their culture is being compressed by
the Anglophone people, which is why
in 1995, Quebec tried to seperate
from Canada.
First Nations
The basis for the First Nations
identity is the shared history,
experience, language, and culture.
They define a nation as their love for
the earth and Mother Nature. First
Nations groups can describe
themselves as a persoal nation
between tribes, or a nation as First
nations peoples, who were the first
people of this land.

Americans
Americans believe that once you come
to their country, you forget your old
cultural background and adopt their
own values. The country is commonly
referred to as the melting pot
because of this view on nationalism.
Americans are very proud of their land
and their strong leadership, and this
sets the basis for nationalism in
America.
