From this, we can infer that unemployment rate in the world will change drastically in
the years to come. This would cause youths entering the workforce and people from
all over the world to get more competitive as more people will be competing for the
same number of limited jobs.
Moreover, the children born might not have enough food and might face various
conditions and diseases such as malnutrition. Statistics have shown that one out of
every seven people go to bed hungry. Every day about 25,000 people die of
malnutrition and hunger-related diseases; almost 18,000 of them are children under
the age of five. Due to this many children die at a very tender age, contributing to an
increase the infant mortality rate.
There is also a decrease in literacy rate due to the increase in population. As there is
an increase in population, there is a need to provide enough education for the
growing young population. Less developed countries will feel the strain on its
economy to ensure adequate education facilities for the people. Through statistics, it
has been proven that there are more issues regarding overpopulation in
undeveloped countries compared to developed countries. According to the United
Nations, population increases have slowed down or even stopped in developed
countries like Europe, North America, and Japan. Nevertheless, global population
continues to rise at a rate of roughly 78 million people per year. Most of the growth is
taking place in developing countries like sub-Saharan Africa and parts of South and
Western Asia.
Last but not the least, if there is an increase in population, there will be a higher
demand for housing. However, the less developed countries do not have enough
financial support to provide sufficient housing for their citizens. As a result squatter
settlements and make-shift houses have sprouted around the outskirts of cities of
less developed countries due to the lack of proper housing. As a result the various
consequences can affect the country adversely and increase the number of deaths.
