Miles Conway- heritage lottery fund film

Miles Conway is the practitioner I will be working with during this project. He will
be working with me one-to-one during the duration of this project. This will help
me develop my filming skills. He is a Computer Science teacher at Onslow St
Audreys and has made some films for the Heritage Lottery Fund.

One day a week we would meet and talk about the project and he would teach
me skills such as different angles on the camera, zooming using a green screen,
editing software, video effects and video transitions. He also taught me how to
ask the best interview questions. For example, at the beginning of the video you
should always ask a bit about the interviewee. There is a picture above that
shows us working together to complete part of the video.
Miles Conway was given 30,000 to produce a film for the Heritage Lottery Fund.
This was based on the World War 2 and De Havilland. I watched the film and I
was inspired by it because I want to create something similar.

He has also made many documentaries and films for Onslow St Audreys and I
managed to view some of his work. This has inspired me to complete a video
with lots of interesting effects.
What have I learnt?
Before meeting Mr Conway I didnt know about editing and the best ways to film.
He has shown me how to use different editing tools and how to position the
camera. This has inspired me to produce a film that uses a range of techniques.
He had an influence on me because I now know to interview effectively and the
best ways to produce a stage/background. Once we were editing he taught me
about transitions, adding music and titles and adding pictures. He managed to
show me how to fade effects out.
