    *Thedrainplugshavealreadybeenremovedandareshowninthispicture.

    Lefttoright:6mmhexsocket,8mmhexsocketand24mmsocket.

    Stepbystep:
    1. Raisefrontofcaronramps(RhinoRampsworkwellforme)andchockrearwheels.
    2. Removeoilfillcapontopofengine(allowsforoiltodrainoutwithminimalspattering).
    3. Thedrainplugandoilfilterarelocatedundertheengine(underthecar),accessiblethrougha
    removableplasticcover.Locatethecoverandremoveitsthreescrews(8mmsocket).

    4. Oncethescrewsareremoved,thecoverisheldbyaplasticretainer.Flipthecoveroutofthe
    waytopreventitfromgettingsprayedwithoilasyoudraintheoilpan.

    Oilpandrainplug,
    requires8mmhex
    socket.

    Oilfilterhousingdrain
    plug,requires6mm
    hexsocket.

    Oilfilterhousing,
    requires24mm
    socket.

    5. Placeyourdrainbucket(expect~9qtsofoil)undertheoildrainplug.
    6. Removetheoildrainplugwithan8mmhexsocketandallowtodrainfully.Ifyouarecollecting
    anoilsampleforanalysis,trytocatchthesamplehalfwaythroughthisdrainstep.
    7. Whileyouwaitfortheoiltodrain,inspectthedrainplugtomakesurethattheoldwashercame
    offwiththeplug.
    8. Removetheoilfilterhousingdrainplugwitha6mmhexsocketandallowtodrain.
    9. Removetheoilfilterhousingwitha24mmsocket.Thefilterelementshouldcomeoutwiththe
    housing,butitmayremainattachedtotheengine.Useaplasticbagtowrapoveritandpullit
    down(gently)ifthishappens.Discardtheelement.
    10. Cleanthedrainplugandreplacetheoldwasherwiththenewonefromyournewoilfilterkit.
    11. CleanthehousingsdrainplugandreplacethesmallOringwiththenewoneincludedinyouroil
    filterkit.UsesomenewoiltolubricatetheOringbeforeinstallingitintheplug.
    12. RemovetheoldOringfromthefilterhousingandreplaceitwiththenewoneincludedinyour
    oilfilterkit.LubricatenewOringbeforeinstalling.

    13. Insertthenewfilterelementintothehousing.Youshouldfeelitsnapintoplace.TheOrings
    andwasherareshowninstalledbelow:

    Reinstalltheoildrainplugandtorqueto25Nm.
    Reinstallthefiltercanisterandtorqueto25Nm(ortospecmarkedonhousingbody).
    Reinstallthecanisterdrainplugandtorqueto10Nm(ortospecmarkedonhousingbody).
    Pour81/2qtsofoilintoengineoilfill.Replaceengineoilfillcap.
    Starttheengineandlookforanylowoilrelatedwarnings.Shutofftheengineifanyoillevel
    warningpersistsformorethanacoupleofseconds.
    Ifnowarningsaredisplayed,allowenginetorunforacoupleofminutes.Inspectareaaround
    drainplugsandoilfilterhousingforleaks.
    Ifalllooksok,shutoffengine,replacetheaccesscoverandtightenthethreescrews.
    Lowerthecarfromrampsanddrivethecarforafewmiles.
    ChecktheengineoilleveldisplaythroughIDrive(EngineOilshouldreadOKandleveldisplay
    shouldbegreenuptomaxlevel).
    Resetyouroilserviceinterval(ifapplicable).
