Mu Sigma was founded by Dhiraj C Rajaram, a former strategy consultant for Booz Allen
Hamilton and PricewaterhouseCoopers, in 2004.[1] In 2008, Mu Sigma raised its first institutional
investment round of $30 million from FTVentures (now FTV Capital). [5] In April 2011, the company raised
an additional $25 million from Sequoia Capital.[6] In December 2011, the company announced a $108
million round of financing from Sequoia and private equity investor General Atlantic one of the largest
investments yet in an analytics services company.[4]

In February 2013, Mu Sigmas founder, chairman and ceo, Dhiraj Rajaram won the Ernst &
Young Entrepreneur Of The Year India Award 2012, for services category. [7]

In Sep 2012, CEO Dhiraj Rajaram won the 2012 Gold Stevie Award for Executive of the Year; Mu
Sigma takes Bronze for Company of the Year in the Diversified Services category.[8]

In 2012, Mu Sigma was ranked #907 on the Inc. 5000 list of Americas fastest-growing private
companies. In 2011 the company ranked #386, and in 2010, it ranked #204. [9]
