Instructional Goals for Course

Increase the student knowledge of Math

equations and expressions.

After training, students will be able to

solve fundamental Math equations and

advance into basic Math classes.

Phase II:

Slide 6

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the course, each

participant will understand the basic order

of operation to solve problems and
equations.
The expected outcome of the course is that

each participant will pass State Standard

Core Testing, (CRT) Criterion Referenced
Test and the Nevada proficiency
examination in Math.
Slide 7

Project-base learning
Collaborative Learning require

student involvement as students

work together in teams to solve
equations.
Group Sessions increase critical

thinking skills and provide study

Plan for Implementation

The course will be taught on Wednesdays from 11:00 am

to 3:00 pm, beginning June 10, for six consecutive weeks,

ending July 15. There will be scheduled classes of
summer school that students are encouraged to attend to
increase critical thinking skills. Sessions are four hours
long, and all classes will take place at Findley Middle
School.

A facilitator will lead the instruction, using PowerPoint

and Smart boards as a visual. Participants will utilize

worksheets, Handouts, Computers and white boards.

Slide 14
