Strengths

Associated with the brand name Anupam Kher

Course is of more duration (627 hrs) in lesser fees
(1.75 lacs) panned out for 3 months.
Anupam Kher himself teaches at times, whenever
he has free time.
They have a batch size of 120 students divided
into 4 classes of 30 each.
Most of their alumni are now working in movies.
They conduct corporate workshops tailored to
heighten actors attributes in corporate executives.

Strengths
(Continued)

They conduct customized workshops tailored

for specific clientele who could be from different
walks of life.
Many young Bollywood celebrities (Deepika,
Ranbir, Hritik, Jr. Bachchan, Priety Zinta) as well as
Hollywood celebrities (Rober De Niro, Danny Boyle,
Gurinder Chaddha) come for guest lectures.
Holds plays acted by alumni through theatrical
productions on a continual basis. (Repertory- 6
plays from 18th April to 3rd May)

Weaknesses

They just have an acting course. They do not

have courses on other aspects of film making.
An actor might fail to get a holistic perspective.
They do not give any live environment to look
and observe around after classes, unlike in ICE.
Neither do they take their students to live
production studios
They do not make their students do multiple
projects during their course. They just have one
play presentation towards the end of the course.

Weaknesses
(continued)

They dont make their students carry their

work outside of the course. The play copy
stays with the institute for their records.
They make their students go through a series
of classroom teaching and the students get
very few occasions to apply the knowledge
received in classroom teaching.
Their total fee (in installment scheme) is same
as their total lump-sum fee.

Opportunities to ICE

Conduct Corporate workshops

Conduct Customized workshops
Collaborate with big college events like Mood
Indigo and get an opportunity to publicize in
front of aspiring budding actors and film
makers.
ICE being amidst 13 studios of Balaji is one of
the USPs of ICE thus giving students good
exposure to live environment.

Opportunities to ICE
(contd)

Have a facility to accommodate out-station

students close to the institute, for reasons,
one so that students can work longer together
and two, it can talked about as a USP of ICE
not provided by AP.
AP is not just focusing on domestic market
but also overseas market which is yet
untapped by ICE.

Threats to ICE

The low fees demanded by AP and no-extrafees-for- availing-installment-scheme are some

of the USPs and a competitive advantage of
AP.
Another major competitive advantage of AP is
that Anupam Kher himself comes to take
classes of the full-time batch.
AP is a more lucrative avenue for actors
aspiring to making it to Bollywood as most of
the guest lecturers are from the film industry.

Threats to ICE
(continued)

AP has a much higher intake (120 students) in

a 3 month batch, compared to that of ICE,
thus making more students join AP.
After the course gets over every student is
called for TV serial auditions through reference
(minimum 2 according to a source).
