Dear Parent/ Guardian

Welcome to 1st. grade and an
exciting school year. I would like to
introduce myself first. My name is
Maria Cruz and I will be your childs
teacher this year. I am thrilled to be
your childs teacher and am
committed to doing everything
within my power to make this year
successful for all of us.

I earned my BS in Liberal Studies

from Texas A&M- Central Texas and
my teacher certification through
ACT Central Texas. It is especially
my goal to instill a lifelong passion
of learning in all my students. I
want students to leave my
classroom feeling confident that
they can apply what theyve
learned in school to real-life
situations.

Homework
Students will be assigned
homework on Monday and are
expected to complete it by Friday
and have it turned in to be given
credit. You should expect your child
to spend twenty to thirty minutes
on reading and homework
assignments. Please make sure
your child has enough time after
school to complete homework.
Collaboration, cooperation, and
open communication between
home and school are keys to
building a strong foundation for a
successful school year. Please feel
