Bevin Riley

July 2016
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Hello! My name is Bevin Riley and I am very excited to have your child in my second grade
class this year. A bit about myself: I am originally from Maryland where I attended the University
of Maryland. Since moving to San Antonio four years ago I have become certified to teach in
Texas. I hope everyone is as excited as I am for the coming year. We will study vocabulary,
writing, math, science and so much more. It is my mission to help your child succeed to their
fullest.

In order to help your child succeed it is important that we communicate. Enclosed you will find a
copy of our classroom rules and other important information. It is important to note a few basic
expectations and procedures of our class. At the beginning of each class, there will be a warm
up assignment on the board and/or your child's desk that they may begin as soon as they are
seated. Your child will have roughly twenty minutes of homework a night, Monday through
Thursday. I feel it is important to offer Friday as time to reflect independently, or work on
extended projects. Late or missing work may require a note from home and shall be permitted to
be made up. Failing to do so may result in lack of credit for missed assignments and an
explanatory note to parents stressing the importance of completing assignments on time.

Please take a few moments to review the information and fill out the last page, Student
Information Form, to be sent back to class with your child.
Again, I am so excited for the adventures and milestones we will reach this year!
Please reach out anytime for questions or concerns by email: teach4you@gmail.com or by
calling me at school : 555-5555.
Sincerely,

Ms. Bevin Riley
