ASWSUV Seventeenth Senate 2007-08 Session

AN ACT Amending By-law {Section 940.00 and sub-section 940.01}

BE IT ENACTED BY THE ASWSUV SENATE:

Sec. 1. Section D of 940.01 of the Multicultural Committee reads as follows:

D. Membership:
1. The committee shall be chaired by a member of the ASWSUV
Senate. Membership of the committee shall consist of current
WSU Vancouver students.
a. The number of committee members shall be limited to one
(1) percent of the current student body count, not to exceed
fifteen (15) committee members.

Sec. 2. Section D of 940.01 of the Multicultural Committee shall be changed to:

D. Membership:
1. The committee shall be chaired by a member of the committee.
Membership of the committee shall consist of current WSU
Vancouver students.
a. The number of committee members shall be limited to one
(1) percent of the current student body count, not to exceed
fifteen (15) committee members.

STATEMENT OF FACT:
The purpose of this amendment is to revise Section D 940.01 of the by-laws due to the
fact that no other committee requires an ASWSUV senator to be chair. This does not preclude a
senator from chairing this committee because the chair is open to any and all active students.
