RECOMMENDATION FOR ANAMIKA DATTA It is with pleasure that I issue this letter in favor of Anamika Datta who is an MS student of the department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in the session of 2011-2012. Anamika is known to me since she got admitted as a B.Sc. (Honors) student in the Department of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering of the University of Dhaka in 2007. Currently she is working on a research project (Thesis) of entitled Preparation of Hydroxyapatite Nanocrystals from Egg Shell and its Biomimetic Nanocomposites for Regenerative Bone Tissue Engineering under my supervision. She has already developed methodology for the preparation of Nano hydroxyapatite from waste egg shell and is presently working on the development of biomimetic composites. The initial results obtained from her research are very interesting would give significant impact in the nanotechnology research in Bangladesh. I observed her very closely as course teacher and as research supervisor. She has very strong background on the basic subjects of this discipline and obtained CGPA 3.82 (in a scale of 4) in BSc (Honors) and remains top 3% in our department. She is hard working and diligently attentive to her courses and I highly appreciate her style of exploring the courses and research results to the best possible extent. Anamika has been reared in a multicultural environment. She is extremely well mannered, hardworking, creative, inquisitive in nature, polite and has an affable personality. I especially admire her honesty and integrity of mind. Considering her scholastic performance and research motivation I believe that Anamika will make full use of her intellectual potential if she were got a chance for the Research Fellowship in Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR). I strongly recommend her approval for this Fellowship program. I wish her good luck for her future endeavors.
