Engineering Management
Case Study No. 1
Ill Dream of You
Problem :
Mr. Mallari dreams of establishing his own assembly plant and his concern is
to identify what will be the college courses to choose for his three sons.
Objective:
1. To identify what would be his choice for the courses of his sons.
Solution:
If Mr. Mallaris three sons will be keenly interested into whatever he would ask
them to take and he thinks that his three sons have the potential to help him in
establishing his own assembly plant, I think BS in Mechanical Engineering would be
a right choice to one of his sons because BSME focuses on manipulation of engines
and machineries which would be helpful in achieving his dream. His second pick
should be BS in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, this
course would greatly help his son and him in running their business for this course
is intended to focus on business management and if his son would take the Masters
degree in Business Management, he could just hire his son as the Manager of his
own assembly plant. His last choice for the course of his son would be BS in
Electrical Communications Engineering because this course mainly focuses on
electrical wirings so if one of his sons would take this course, it would be a big help
for his own assembly plant because his son who would graduate and become an
Electrical Engineer will be the one who would manage the circuits and wirings of the
assembly plant. These three courses would be a great help in achieving his dream
of establishing his own assembly plant since these courses have their own fields of
specialization that would be a help in running the assembly plant.
Recommendation:
I would recommend BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS in Business
Administration Major in Marketing Management and BS in Electrical
Communications Engineering because these courses have their own field of
specialization that would be a help in the success of his assembly plant.
