Removal and Installation
To remove:
The fuel pump is located on the front left side of the engine.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the fuel hoses from the pump. If necessary, tag the lines to assure proper
installation.
3. Remove the fuel pump-to-engine bolts and remove the fuel pump from the engine, then
remove and discard the old gasket.
To install:
Before installing the fuel pump, it may be helpful to rotate the crankshaft so that the cam lobe is
on the down stroke.
4. Use a new gasket and RTV sealant, then install the pump to the engine.
5. Tighten the fuel pump-to-engine bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
6. Connect the fuel hoses to the pump, as noted during removal.
7. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for proper pump
operation.
