2015 SEA KAYAKING GUIDE TRAINING

To complete the training requirement, you must be able to attend ALL classroom & ocean
sessions. NO exceptions.
Classroom Sessions: Monday October 5th 7:00 - 9:30 PM
Thursday October 29th 7:00 - 9:30 PM
Ocean Weekend Sessions: October 10 - 11th and October 31st

Guiding for OA:

If you are interested in developing your sea kayaking skills and leading people on trips,
then Sea Kayak Guide Training is for you. We will spend two classroom sessions and two
weekends working on paddle technique, safety, navigation, rescue, leadership, and teaching skills.
Entry into the Sea School is by application and interview. Previous sea kayaking
experience is not necessary. Transportation for the weekend sessions is provided by OA. The
cost for our Sea Kayaking School is $90 for students and $120 for non-students. Cost for food
has not been included but will be determined and announced during the first classroom session.
Applications are due by 6:00 pm on Monday, September 28th. If you qualify to sign up for an
interview, you will be contacted via e-mail and phone. Interviews will be held September 28th
October 1st. I encourage anyone who is interested to ask questions and return an application!
