• What “food” does Jesus say He has in John 4?
• What is the first question that Jesus asks the man
in the pool of Bethesda?

because what?
• Who do people think Jesus is in John 7? What are
their answers?

John’s “Books”
The Gospel of John is often divided into two “books” or
categories of content. These books are:
a.) The Book of Signs – John’s recordings of Jesus’
miracles and signs that He was truly the Messiah.
This includes a listing of seven miracles of Jesus
as well as several of the recorded “I am”
statements of Jesus.
b.) The Book of Glory (also called The Book of
Passion) – John’s recordings of Jesus’ passion and
information that glorifies Jesus with a clear
understanding that He is the Christ and has come
to suffer for humanity’s sake.

Of course these two “books” are not delineated easily.

You cannot say that chapters 1-8 are the Book of Signs,
and 8-21 is the Book of Glory. Rather, it is more helpful
to think of the two sections as being overlaying fabrics
which show a new pattern when they are put together.

Please don’t throw this away. If you’re not going to use it, leave it for
someone else to use.
