Barefield
Reports:
Secretary Reading of the minutes: Motioned for approval by Bria Scott
and seconded by Melissa Baccus.
Treasurer: Planning to have reports for 2014 and 2015 by the end of
the year.
Back to School: Water bottles were a big hit. Lots of kids are using
them. Ordered 50 extras to give to any students that enroll later in the year.
One suggestion was to also order some water bottles to sell. Discussed
ordering 50 more water bottles to sell at a cost of no more than $2.50 each.
Motioned for approval by Bria Scott and seconded by Tammy Shanks.
Teacher Appreciation: Discussed back to school gifts. Received two
teacher thank you notes. It was mentioned that some teachers weren't sure
who the back to school gifts came from. Discussed including a card with the
back to school gifts next year so that the teachers know the gifts are from
Lionbackers.
Membership: update. Have 9 individual memberships; 33 family
memberships; 22 white memberships; 13 blue memberships; 19 red
memberships. Melanie Barefield will use these numbers to order
membership gifts. There are still some individuals/businesses that we need
to contact. Each person took some names to contact. Nine more signs left
to print (red) because they ran out of vinyl. We will close membership on
September 30. Bria Scott will need help giving out membership gifts. Will
probably do this at the October 2nd home football game.
Concessions: Brigette Nelson is planning to purchase a new coffee pot
as the current one quit working.
Old Business:
Homecoming float budget: CaSandra Smith will be in charge of the
float again. Suggestion was to give a budget of $135.00 for candy and other
items needed for the float. Bria Scott is to contact someone regarding

making a new sign for the float. Melissa Baccus motioned to approve giving
$135 for float budget; Bria Scott seconded.
Media Budget: $1,000 was last year's budget. Discussed that this
amount is probably too low. Tabled for next meeting.
Fundraisers:
We will always do basketball tournament in February
(4th, 5th and 6th grades). Volleyball, Janice Vance - probably not a good idea
at this point. 3 on 3 youth tournament - hard to find this type of event
anywhere close to here so could be a good opportunity; age groups 3rd or
4th grade through 6th; 7th and 8th grade too depending on rules for JH.
Janice Vance will be in charge of this. Golf tournament - Melanie will contact
Becky Yoxall.
New Business:
Lionbackers Directory: Tammy Shanks will prepare another flyer to
announce the directory and get it out to students on September 28 or 29.
We will close the directory at the end of September. Tammy Shanks will
prepare the directory.
Concessions: Homecoming. There are some concerns about the use of
donated items and loss of donated items. Also discussed a lack of seating
near the concession stand. There was also mention of a need for more
roasters and a crockpot in the future. Tabled for next meeting. It was
discussed to set the budget for homecoming at $600. A motion was made
by Tammy Shanks to approve the budget of $600. This motion was seconded
by Bria Scott.
Teacher Appreciation Grants: Last year's budget was $2,500. A
motion was made by Bria Scott to approve a budget of $2,500 this year.
Melissa Baccus seconded the motion.

Metzler has offered to do this. Melissa Baccus made a motion to approve a
$100 budget for food for each musical (two musicals during the school year);
Tammy Shanks seconded the motion.
Staff Appreciation Christmas: All staff are included - 90 people
approximately. Discussed gift ideas for this year. Melissa Baccus made a
motion that the budget for the staff appreciation Christmas gifts be no more
than $300. Bria Scott seconded the motion.
