SOUND FOR VIDEO GAMES

Psychology of Sound
Name a game where the sound really stood out for you. Make a list of why you
remember it.
The more recent games in the FIFA series (15, 16 Demo) have stood out in
terms of sound for me. Firstly, they have a good soundtrack for when you are
navigating menus. There is also sounds for all the different actions in the
menus which is satisfying because it feels like you are making an impact on
the game. When you are in game, you are greeted by an incredibly wide array
of different commentary from actual commentators/pundits, making the
game feel like of like an actual real life football game. There is also a wide
range of sounds for when the ball is hit, be it from the foot, head or post of
the goal. These sounds stand out and add more depth to the game. There is
also the sounds of chants and cheering when different things happen in the
game, as if the fans watching the game have genuine emotion, also adding
depth to the game. All of the sound in the game is upbeat, such as the music
