Dear Admissions Office,

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Geovanny as a student whom I have
tremendous respect and is an exception person in general. I have known Geovanny
since he was a freshman in the Foshay highschool.
Diligence is Geovannys watchword. This kid works hard and has achieved much
because of it. Geovanny is in a cohort of students who are in the Neighborhood
Academic Initiative program. This is a rigorous college preparatory program for first
generation students in conjunction with the University of Southern California. The
students take their high school English and math classes on the campus of USC, and
then continue their day at Foshay with the most rigorous classes. In addition, the
students have school on Saturday, tutoring as well as summer school, and have to
remain above a 2.75 grade average. Each year students put in well over 200 extra
hours of school in addition to their already rigorous course load with many AP
classes. He has been on the honor roll for all her high school career.
Geovanny has excellent financial skills. During his time in the Finance Academy,
Geovanny has created his own personal business selling snacks with his peers and
has taught himself how to manage his money wisely. This can be seen after he
bought his own laptop and IPad for school and avoided to ask his parents for help
with an allowance.
In Addition to his academic strength, he excels as a community member. He has
been a member of the Lo Mejor Del Trigo church ministry and serves in a
leadership capacity within his Youth group, working as a mentor for kids younger
than him and managing the projection and sound during the service. Aside from
being a good leader, he works great with others as well. Last year, members of his
church and him worked on the construction of the church and turned an old medical
facility into the church they have today.
Geovanny is truly an independent hard work and is everything one could ask for as
a student and a community member: dedicated with follow-through and an absolute
pleasure to work with. His commitment to his education and his community has
been consistenly evident throughout his high school career. I give Geovanny my
strongest recommendation
