    Hello,
    I would like to introduce myself, my name is Ms. Cardenas and I will be
    teaching Classroom 109 this year. I am a UTSA graduate but I am
    originally from Chicago. Here are a few fun facts about me: I am dog
    lover, I love the outdoors, and my dream is travel all over the world.
    There are a few things I would like for everyone to be aware of before
    our first parent-teacher meeting. It is required that the students bring
    at least one question for me (as well as the parents). I also ask that
    you bring your school supplies on the day of the meeting to avoid the
    commotion of putting everything away on the first day.
    I have a few expectations from the students as well as the parents. I
    would like for everyone to be courteous and respectful of all peers. I
    expect all students to listen and follow the classroom rules. The
    students will also be required to do work and turn in daily. As the
    parents, I would like for you to look out for any folders or papers that I
    send home. I will be sending home not only work, but also information
    pertinent to the classroom and the school.
    There are a few policies that I would like you and the students to know
    about. I do not tolerate tardiness and after the third tardy point will be
    deducted from their final grade. Attendance is pertinent to their
    education. Another policy I would like to note is that of handing in
    work. There will be a bin marked for homework and I expect all
    students to be responsible enough to turn in their work. The last policy
    I would like you to be aware of if that of homework. The students will
    be assigned homework every day; there will rarely be a day when a
    student does not have homework to do. If we all abide by the policies
    then we will have a fun and stress free year.
    I cannot wait to begin this amazing year with an amazing group of
    students.
